Illusions because you see, they really are terrible. Also, I like the word illusion. ILLUSION!
"The object of art is to stir the most divine and remote chords which make music in our soul. Man is hungry for beauty. There is a void. We spend our days looking for the secret of life. Well, the secret of life is in art."
-Oscar Wilde
"A poet is someone who is astonished by everything."
-Anon.
More quotes:
"Draw a crazy picture,
Write a nutty poem,
Sing a mumble-gumble song,
Whistle through your comb.
Do a loony-goony dance
'Cross the kitchen floor,
Put something silly in the world
That ain't been there before."
-Shel Silverstein
"The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep
And miles to go before I sleep."
-Robert Frost, Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening
"'Beauty is truth, truth beauty,' -- that is all
Ye know on Earth, and all ye need to know."
-John Keats, Ode On A Grecian Urn
"Take this kiss upon the brow! And, in parting from you now,
Thus much let me avow--
You are not wrong who deem
That my days have been a dream;
Yet if hope has flown away
In a night, or in a day,
In a vision, or in none,
Is it therefore the less gone?
All that we see or seem
Is but a dream within a dream."
-Edgar Allan Poe, A Dream Within A Dream
"You see things as they are and ask, 'Why?' I dream things as they never were and ask, 'Why not?'"
-George Bernard Shaw
"If I can stop one heart from breaking, I shall not live in vain."
-Emily Dickinson
"You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you mad."
-Aldous Huxley
"Some authors should be paid by the quantity NOT written."
-Anon.

Hah! I am my own HERO! This is unedited because I just finished it and want opinons. However it did take me all evening, so be nice.

When I was little (creative title, no?)
When I was little we were four,
And there was never a time without one or two more,
When I was little our house was full,
Of noise and children and laughter,--never dull,
When I was little bath time was fun,
Afterward around the house wed both run,
When I was little my brother and I were a team,
Looking back now it all seems a dream,
When I was little I was Super Katie,
I would save the day, the world, the man, the lady,
When I was little evil was evil with no other side,
And should they get out of control someone would tan their hide,
When I was little playing pretend was all the rage,
Wed be anything from teenager to princess to mage,
When I was little Pretty Pretty Princess was game I never lost,
Id win each time no matter what the cost,
When I was little my mother read to me aloud,
And when I could I read a word or two and she was proud,
When I was little bedtime was loathed above all,
Id fight forever against sleeps convincing call,
And now Im older, and we four are three,
And when Im older still it will become just me,
My brother seems too far away,
And hes never come back here, home to stay,
I am older and now I know that evil is not black or white,
No, people are a mix of good and bad nothing unquestionably right,
Most of my imaginary games are all done,
Pretty Pretty Princess crown lost somewhere under the sun,
I am older and I read and write on my own,
And I miss rituals where I was never alone,
Bedtime is comforting to my tired brain,
With all of the math, German, and science under which it must strain,
I am older now and though I am not an adult,
From child to teenager I molt,
There is no going back only plowing ahead,
And with that final note, I take myself off to bed.
